What makes Piecely unique in the puzzle world?
Artistic Focus
Piecely collaborates with talented female artists to feature stunning, curated designs that are visually striking. Each puzzle doubles as a work of art, allowing users to not only enjoy the process but also admire the final piece.
Theme-Driven Collections
Instead of generic or random images, Piecely emphasizes cohesive, story-driven collections, such as travel-inspired or themed illustrations. This creates a more meaningful and immersive experience for puzzlers.
Sustainability
With a commitment to eco-friendly practices, Piecely uses recycled and sustainably sourced materials in its puzzles and packaging. This aligns with the values of environmentally conscious puzzlers.
Perfectly Sized Options
Piecely offers a variety of sizes, including mini puzzles that are perfect for shorter, relaxing sessions or for beginners who want a quicker but still rewarding experience.
Puzzles as Experiences
Each puzzle is designed to evoke emotions, spark wanderlust, or tell a story, making the act of puzzling more than just a pastime—it becomes a journey or a moment of reflection.
Piecely Puzzles redefines what a puzzle can be: not just a game, but a blend of art, storytelling, and mindfulness. Whether you’re piecing together a serene landscape or a vibrant urban cityscape, you’re stepping into a carefully crafted experience unlike any other.
What do you think makes ‘San Francisco’ a standout puzzle in the Piecely collection?
I think there is no such thing as a single standout puzzle within the Piecely collection. All of the images for my puzzles are carefully curated and chosen for their striking imagery. Every puzzle I have ever launched has been my favorite puzzle at some point. What I love about San Francisco, though, are the bright happy colors and the way so many different and unique parts of the city are perfectly combined to create a single visually appealing image.
Is there a story behind choosing this particular artwork for the puzzle?
Just a very boring one. I reached out to the agency Jocelyn, the artist, is signed to and asked them to send me a curated selection of travel illustrations for inspiration. Jocelyn's illustrations were part of that selection, and her style and the bright colors of her San Francisco illustration just caught my eye. I thought it would make a beautiful puzzle and a great addition to my Piecely portfolio. I wasn't specifically on the lookout for a San Francisco illustration.
Is there anything you would like to share about working with the artist?
A lot of artists I work with, like Jocely Kao, are signed to agencies that take care of the licensing and the communication, so in this case I haven't actually talked to Jocelyn at all, unfortunately. I do prefer working with artists directly, though.
What do you hope puzzlers feel or experience when working on a Piecely puzzle?
Doing a Piecely puzzle is a mindful journey of patience, perseverance, wonder and joy. A puzzle won't solve all of your problems, but a puzzle is a problem you can solve. Piece by piece, until the individual pieces of the puzzle reveal a harmonious overall picture that consists of many wonderful little details that you learn to appreciate on the way to the big picture. This path is not always linear. Sometimes you get ahead faster and approach your goal in big steps. And sometimes you realize that a piece has ended up in the wrong place and you have to slow down to correct your course. But in the end, your patience will pay off and you will not only be rewarded with an extraordinary work of art, but also with the indescribable feeling of having achieved and created something truly beautiful.
